On 10th April two PFA activists rescued a green vine snake and 148 pouches of snake toothpaste- made from crushed snake bones- from Daryaganj, New Delhi. The seller has been arrested by the police and a case registered under The Wildlife Protection Act 1972, section 9,39,50, 51.

People for Animals, Ghaziabad along with the Uttar Pradesh Police and forest department raided Yogamaya Saraswati Ashram in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad and recovered the skin of a black buck, a brush made of wild yak, two pistols and 13 live cartridges on 24.3. 2008. The ashram had been under suspicion for trading in the parts of endangered species of animals Three people have been arrested. |

On 13th april 2008 , a People for Animals team conducted a raid with Meerut police at Plaza Cinema Meerut ,Uttar Pradesh , and recovered 250 birds.The species included Alexandrine parakeets and Rosyringed parakeets . 2 birds sellers, Maniram and Rajiv, were arrested under the Wild Life Protection Act 1972 under section 9,39,50,51 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.The birds were released in the Rihana Wild Life Sanctuary in Meerut under the supervision of Sh. Chandra Bhawan DFO(I.F.S) Meerut. 11 birds died en route from dehydration and 18 birds, which were injured, were sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre in Raja Garden, Delhi |

People For Animals officers, Saurabh and Gaurav Gupta, rescued a rare and large falcon from Seemapuri in North Delhi on the 6th of March 2008. The falcon was stuffed into a tiny cage and was found dehydrated and undernourished. It is being treated at the Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre. One person has been arrested and detained under the Wildlife Protection Act.

People For Animals officers, Saurabh and Gaurav Gupta, rescued 18 pigeons following a raid in Sahibabad. Zaheer and Irfan, who were in possession of the pigeons, have been arrested and a case under the Wildlife Act has been registered against them.
The pigeons were stuffed into a tiny cage and would have died if they had not been found. |

On December 15th, 2007 two PFA activists raided a brush factory in Sahibabad,Uttar Pradesh from which thousands of mongoose hair brushes were recovered. Two factory owners were arrested.

People For Animals conducts Raids at Jama Masjid 8th February 2007 |
On 8th February 2007, a People For Animals team, led by Saurav and Gaurav Gupta, conducted two raids at Jama Masjid, where they rescued 2 peacocks and a rare species of owl. Under the supervision of DCP Alok Kumar, a special staff consisting of Mr. Bacchu Singh and his team conducted these raids at around 1 am, and found Sadiq Khan and Iqbal Khan in Shop No. 3, carrying two peacocks in a polythene bag. Both the culprits have managed to flee. The peacocks were in a critical condition, with their feathers cut and their legs tied. Trading, possessing and hunting of peacocks is illegal under section 9,39,50 & 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and National Act. The Peacocks were bought from Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary. The police report that Iqbal and Sadiq have been involved with the animal-trade for a long time and are wanted for other similar crimes.
In another incident, the police rescued a big owl from Sarwar Hussain in room no.18 at Dargah Kali Mulla Sheikh Sarai. The owl has been bought from Kannauj. All the animals have been sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care center, Raja Garden and an FIR (No. 54/07) has been registered at the Jama Masjid Police Station. |
