Dr. Kiran Bedi attended a program organized by People For Animals, Wardha supported by National Youth Project Org. Director Dr.S.N.Subbarao. Later Dr Bedi visited people For animals Project, Wardha along with Mr. Ashish Goswami. [Image Gallery]

The animal rescue data for the 2nd week of October :

1. A python was captured from Sawangi boys hostel & released to the forest dept.

2. A dog was reported wounded in a dog fight with eyes gouged out, at Gopuri on Tuesday at 8pm. He has been treated & is currently in Karunashram.

3. Another dog was run over by a vehicle at Kelkarwadi on thursday at 11.30am. It has been operated on & is currently recuperating in Karunashram.

4. A middle aged puppy suffered wounds & was brought in this friday at 4.30pm. Currently being treated in Karunashram.

5. ABC for Sawangi has started & we sterilised 15 dogs in this week.[Image Gallery]

PFA Wardha - Activity Report for the first week of October:

Rescue Activity:
1. A goat was rescued from Bade Chowk at 9.30am. It was a major accident & surgery had to be performed. However,the goat is now out of danger & is currently in our shelter.

2. A cow was rescued from Arvi naka at 2pm. A tight rope had cut it's neck.It was a minor injury & has been treated.The cow is currently in our shelter.

3. Wildlife Week was celebrated by PFA Wardha & Forest Dept in the following schools;

1. Kamala Nehru School
2. Sushil Himat Singaka
3. Ratnibai High School
4. Gahatwai School at Wednar(rural interiors)

2000 students were present & the function consisted of 2 video sessions, Meet your Meat(PETA Video) & Leopard Rescue video by Ashish Goswami. Thereafter an interactive wild life exhibition was held.

An Event by People for Animals (Wardha)

Summary:

Jeeva Daya Sankalp Ruksharopan was an event organised by People for Animals (Wardha) on Smt. Maneka Gandhi’s birthday on 26^th August, 2012.It took place at the Home Guard Training Center and Wardha. Detailed in this document is a description of the event, rationale behind it & the list of participants.

Event Description: 

The event was a spectacular morning, hosted by PFA, Wardha at the Home Guard Training Center, on the training ground. The event, from the beginning, took on a relaxed atmosphere, starting at 8.15am and lasting for an hour & a half. It began with the planting of tree samplings by Mr Murlidhar Belkode, President of Nisarga Seva Samiti .The event proceeded with the speakers addressing the Home Guard personnel.

PFA Wardha rescue a injure tree Python on 18th Aug. The Python is treated 15 days at pfa hospatil and then release in forest with the help of wardha forest dept. [Image Gallery]

PFA Wardha arranged a Road Safety program with the  regional transport department RTO. They  Put reflector tape on 54 bullock carts to avoid road accident at night. They also distributed mineral mixture supplement powder to the same.

PFA Wardha rescued 16cattle from the butchers and won the case in court.

PFA Wardha picked up a dog in Nagpur on 8/2/2011 which was curled up on pain on the road because someone had put a long nail into its body. The dog was taken to the Wardha shelter and operated on. He is now in the wardha shelter.
