Unfortunately, It has not been very successful in generating interest among government officials to provide any kind of logistical or material assistance. Many of them are too busy with their own political agenda to give us the time of day. It will go a long way in generating public curiosity and interest.

we are working very hard to create awareness within Trivandrum City and are pleased to note that people are coming forward to volunteer assistance.  We have covered 20 schools within Kerala to generate awareness through our talks/interaction which have gone down very well with the young audience. PFA Trivandrum RescuePFA Trivandrum: The animal lovers of the city have turned saviours of an abandoned dog. The animal was found dumped on the premises of a temple at Kumarapuram on Wednesday morning. Lakshmi Govind, a resident, alerted the People For Animals on seeing the plight of the dog.

Maria Jacob, a volunteer with PFA, arrived on the spot and took the dog to her house. The condition of the dog was really pathetic.

At Maria’s house, a vet attended to the dog. “The vet told me that she is across breed between a bull mastiff and boxer. He said that there is very change that dog belonged to a breeder. The individual might have dumped her after her job was done.” Says Maria.

The vet gave the rescued dog some injections and also some medicines. She drank many bowls of water, but vomited all that when Maria tried to feed her. “Once she is steady, we would take her to the PFA shelter home at Pravachmbalam. It is so sad that we treat animals so badly,” says Maria, adding that her two pugs and a mongrel were also found abandoned once.
