TREATMENT OF STRAY INJURED ANIMALS-
On 6.12.12, at Punamagate, Bhubaneswar, a dog’s mouth was severely injured by an accident, rescue the dog taken to OUAT, Bhubaneswar, wash the mouth, inj. Melonex, antibiotic monocef given for five days.
On 6.12.12, at Balianta, Khordha, Bhubaneswar, a dog’s leg was injured by an accident, inj. melonex 2ml., antibiotics taxim 500mg. given and dressed the wound with betadine lotion and apply d-mog spray.

On 19.11.12, at Gorekhanath matha, Jagatsinghpur, a monkey’s hand was injured by an accident, inj.melonex 2ml., antibiotics taxim 500mg. given and dressed the wound with betadine lotion and apply d-mog spray.

On 2.8.12, at collectorate ground, Jagatsinghpur, a cow met an accident backbone fractured, inj. melonex 10ml, antibiotics dicrystacine 20 lacs given & shifted the cow from road side to a safe place.
On 2.8.12, at Barti chhack,Tarpur, Jagatsinghpur, a bull calf’s leg injured by an accident, leg injured, painkiller and antibiotics given.

ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF March, 2012
Treatment of injured animals:

On 5.3.12,at Arnapurna Gosala, Jagatpur,Cuttack, a cow’s horn was broken due to illegal transport, ,inj.melonex, antibiotic dicrystacine 20 lacs, for five days, dress the wound with betadine lotion, apply d-mog spray and cover the wound with cotton.

On 5.3.12,at Nandagaon Gosala, Chodwar, Cuttack, a cow’s urinal organ was ruptured due to illegal transport, ,inj.melonex, antibiotic dicrystacine 20 lacs, for five days, dress the wound with betadine lotion.

On 21.3.12, At-Sanabazar, Jagatsinghpur, A bull back was severely injured , developed into maggot, wash the wound with oil turpentine lotion, apply d-mag spray and inj. Monocef 3gm.given for five days.
Cease of illegally transported cattles:
-
On 4.3.12-at –Rasulgarh, NH-5, Cuttack-Bhubaneswar road, our member with Bajarang activist, ceased 3 goat loaded truck no-WB 33D-0646, OR 02 Y-6911, OR 02 S-1163, and one max pick up van No-OR 02 AH-2397from Kolkata, the ceased truck handed over to police, From this truck we rescue 251 nos, of goats, one died goat disposed.

On 5.3.12 at-Sikharpur chhack,cuttack, we again cease four cattle loaded container no.-UP-23T 0785, HR 55 M-5463, HR 55 M-8820, HR 55 M-8802, one max pickup van No. OR 04-D1222, and one squad Tata indigo car No. OR 02 BV-2096 from begonia cattle market to Kolkata slaughter house, the ceased container handed over to Chauliaganj police, FIR given against the driver and helper, From this truck we rescue 102 nos, of cattles, they are sheltered at Nandagaon Gosala,Chodwar, Cuttack and Arnapuna Gosala, Jagatpur, Cuttack. Two injured cows are treated and four died cattle are disposed. Our members construct temporary shelter and given feeds.
Construction of water tanks for stray animals:
- On 13.3.12, at-Jagatsinghpur cattle market, we construct two nos. of water tanks (8ftx4ftx2ft) for stray animals with support of district SPCA, Jagatsingpur.
Participatory Rural Appraisal Tools:
- From 26.3.12 to 1.4.12 we conduct PRA works at- Subala village, Block- Mahakalapara,Dist- Kendrapara, to collect data from villagers using various PRA tools like Social Mapping, Venn Diagram ,Animal Resource Mapping, Senility Calendar, Daily Routine Chart , Animal Wealth Ranking, Human House Hold survey etc. and to form a Village Veterinary Disaster Management Committee (VVDMC) under Village Veterinary Disaster Management Plan (VVDMP) of WSPA.
Animal Cruelty:
- On 30.3.12,At-Biridi Bazar, Jagatsinghpur, We catch two camels and owner moving village to village to collect money in hot summer, inform the Biridi Police to cease camel and arrest the owner.
Rescue of Stray and wild Animals:
- On 29.3.12 From Forest department, we rescue one Injured kite, treatment and feeding given.

ACTIVITY REPORT MAY, 2012
Treatment of stray injured animals:
- On 2.5.12 at Tarpur Bazar, Jagatsinghpur, a dog’s leg was injured and developed magot. Antibiotic taxim 250gm. was given for five days and dress the leg with oil turpentine with d-mog spray.
- On 5.5.12 at Sanabazar, Jagatsinghpur a bull leg was injured. Inj.melonex 15ml. wa given and dressed the wound.
- On 8.5.12 at Chikinia, Tarpur, Jagatsinghpur, a cat’s leg was swollen. Volune spray was applied.
- On 11.5.12 at Tarpur bazar, Jagatsinghpur, a bull leg injured. Inj. Melonex 15ml. and inj.dicrystasin 20 lac was given. The wound was dressed with betadine lotion.
- On 18.5.12 at Kakudia, Redhua, Jagatsinghpur, a monkey met an accident. The wound was dressed with betadine lotion but the monkey was died. Our member dispose the monkey.
- On 20.5.12 at Mancheswar railway station, Bhubaneswar, a bull leg was injured by an accident. Inj. Melonex 15ml. was given and dress the wound with betadine lotion.
Meeting Attained:

On 25.5.12 at The HII Hotel, Shriya Sqaure, Bhubaneswar, a Consultive meet among the animal welfare organisation of Odisha for disaster management was organised by Redcross & IAG (Inter Agency Group) of Odisha which was supported by WSPA, India & Spear Group, India.
Participatory Rural Appraisal Tools:
- From 26.5.12 to 31.5.12 we conduct PRA works at Balisuan village, Block Mahakalapara, Dist.Kendrapara to collect data from villagers using various PRA tools like Social Mapping, Venn Diagram, Animal Resource Mapping, Senility Calendar, Daily Routine Chart, Animal Wealth Ranking, Human Hose Hold survey etc. and to form a Village Veterinary Disaster Management Committee (VVDMC) under Village Veterinary Disaster Management Plan (VVDMP) of WSPA.

Animal welfare awareness programme -PFA - Jagatsinghpur organized Animal welfare awareness programme at four High Schools namely, S.K.Academy, Saraswati Shisu Mandir, Govt.girl’s high school and Gadibramha high school, of Jagatsinghpur district on dated-7th, 10th, 18th and 23rd February 2012 in collaboration with SPCA, Jagatsinghpur. In this programme debate and quiz competition done on animal cruelty and animal welfare, certificates and prize given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd position students and consolidated prizes given to all participants.
Treatment of injured animals:
- On 2/2/12 at college chhack, Jagatsingpur, a dog met an accident, bandage the leg, inj.melonex 2ml.,taxim 250mg. given.
- On 3/2/12-at-CDVO Office, Jagatsingpur, a cat met an accident, leg injured, bandage the leg, inj.melonex 2ml.,taxim 250mg.given.
- On 5/2/12-at-Lalasahi, college chhack, Jagatsingpur, a dog have maggot wound on leg, dressed the wound with oil turpentine, inj.neomec 2ml.,taxim 250mg.given for five days.
- On 20/2/12,at Satyabhamapur, Baliastore, Jagatsinghpur, a bull was severely injured on the stomach. With the help of local veterinary and our members stitch the wound, inj. melonex, antibiotic dicrystacine 20 lacs double dose given for five days, dressed the wound with betadine lotion, apply d-mog spray and cover the wound with cotton.
- On 27/2/12, at Krishi vihar chhack, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, A dog was severely injured by a man with a sword, the dog was taken to OUAT,Bhubaneswar, treatment given by Dr. Jaykrushna Das. inj.DNS, and inj. Blledcheck given.
Illegal case booking:
- On 27/2/12, at Krishi vihar chhack, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, A dog was severely injured by a man with a sword, the dog was taken to OUAT, Bhubaneswar, treatment given by Dr. Jaykrushna Das, but the dog was died, FIR given against the accused at Khandagiri police station, case registered vide No. case no.83(46), under section 429, postmortem of dog body done, dispose the carcass and the accused arrested by the police.
Cease of illegally transported cattle:
- On 26/2/11, at Nirgundi gate, Manguli, Cuttack, our members with Bajarang activist, cease a loaded truck no-OR-04 L-9211, transported from Begonia cattle market to Kolkata slaughter house. The ceased truck handed over to Tango police, FIR lodged against the driver and helper. From this truck we rescue 25 nos. of cattle. They are sheltered at Arnapuna Gosala. Jagatpur,Cuttack.
- On 29/2/12, at Samrat cinema hall ,Madhupatna, cuttack, we again cease a cattle loaded container no.-UP-92T3685 transported from Begonia cattle market to Kolkata slaughter house, the ceased truck handed over to Madhupatna police. FIR lodged against the driver and helper. From this truck we rescue 26 nos. of cattles. They are sheltered at Shrikrushna Gosala, Cuttack.

On 7/1/12 , At-Hatabazar, Jagatsinghpur, A bull was injured on the belly, Intestine come out, operation done by VAS, Jagatsinghpur, inj.melonex 30ml., xylagine, ketamin, xylocane anasthatia given, antibiotic dicrystacine 20 lacs double dose for five days & dressed the wound with betadine lotion and d-mag spray regularly.

On 8/1/12, at-Deuli, Grameswar, Jagatsinghpur, A goat kid was seriously weak, debility due to diarrhea, DNS. & Neblon powder given.

On 3/1/12, A mad bull attacked several people of Vill-Balisahi, Balikuda, Jagatsinghpur, one person of this village was died, Collector & CDVO, Jagatsinghpur given letter to us to catch the bull. Our members catch the bull, rescued to Kanjiahoda, Cuttack.

On 13/1/12, From Naugoan, Jagatsinghpur, a deer was attacked by dogs, injured, horn broken, rescued by forest guards & our members, first aid treatment given by VAS Naogaon, taken to OUAT, BBSR. Treatment given & sheltered at PFA, BBSR.

On 15/11/11, at Salijanga, Jagatsinghpur, a bull leg was severely injured by FMD, dressed the wound with oil turpentine and naphthalene powder applied and antibiotic monocef 3gm. For five days.

On 15/11/11, at Tarpur Bazar, Jagatsinghpur, a Bull calf skin was ruptured with an accident, pain killer melonex 2ml., antibiotic taxim-500mg. given and d-mag spray applied.

On 15/11/11, at Court chhack, Jagatsinghpur, a dog was unable to deliver her puppy taken to veterinary, pain killer melonex 2ml., anesthesia and antibiotic taxim-500mg. given. A dead puppy was removed from uterus of the dog.

From 8/11/11 to 11/11/11 went to Chennai to attend Workshop on “ESTBLISHING A MODEL STRANDING NETWORK IN SOUTH EAST INDIA: MARINE MAMMAL NECROPSY/STRANDING RESPONSE TRAINING” organized by Deppt. of Vet. Pathology, Madras veterinary college, Tamilnadu & National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), USA.
Turtle Action Group (TAG) Workshop
From 12/11/11 to 13/11/11 attend annual meeting & Workshop of Turtle Action Group (TAG),at Mahabalipuram, Chennai, to building a network for conservation of marine turtles in India, organized by Madras Crocodile Bank & Daskhin Foundation, Chennai.

Flood Relief Programme
Flood relief fund support given by WSPA, India to PFA, Bhubaneswar, our members help to distribute rice straw at six villages of Kendrapara district namely Siringpur, Balisuan, Beruhan, Narasingpur, Nuagaon-Dhaniapada, and Subala. Total 2503 nos. of animals are given @ 200 nos. rice straws to each animals. Distribution of rice straw starts from 18/10/11 to 25/10/11.

- On 2/12/11 ,AT-Erandapala, Jagatsinghpur, A cat leg was injured ,taken to veterinary, bandage the leg, pain killer melonex 2ml. ,antibiotic taxim-500mg. given for four days.
- On 2/12/11, At- Chikinia, Jagatsinghpur, A cat was weak, Debility, DNS and multivitamin given.
- On 10/12/11 At- Kaladhari, Jagatsinghpur, A dog’s sterilization done by the veterinary doctor, Anesthesia, pain killer, and antibiotic given.
- On 18/12/11 At-Tarpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bull skin ruptured, Dressed the wound with betadine lotion, apply d-mag spray.
- On 21/12/11 At- Kakudia, Jagatsinghpur, A monkey kid’s leg was injured, captured the monkey, dressed the wound with betadine, apply silverex ointment.
- On 22/12/11, At-Deuli, Jagatsinghpur, A septic wound on the body of the dog, dressed the wound with oil turpentine; apply naphthalene powder, antibiotic monocef-500 mg. given for five days.
Rescue of animals-1(goat)
- On 1/12/11 At- Raghunathpur bazaar, Jagatsinghpur, A goat was transported on a cycle, its four legs binded by rope, rescued the goat, released the goat in a village.
PRA-WorkshopOn 13-15th December our members attended training on “Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools” in order to integrate livestock in the disaster management plans, organized by WSPA/PFA, BBSR at Bhubaneswar.
